ASL Interpreter | Elgin, Illinois

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Sign Language Interpreter opportunity available for the uping school year in Elgin, IL, serving K-12 students under a contract term from August 4, 2025, to June 6, 2026. This position requires in-person presence and offers a schedule of approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week, aligned with the school calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation to support student munication and academic engagement.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate effective munication within the classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in all interactions.
• Adapt interpretation style to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Qualifications:

• Must have ISBE Approval as a Sign Language Interpreter.
• Candidates with a 3.0 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score or higher may qualify for temporary approval.
• Experience working with K-12 students preferred.
• Strong munication skills and ability to work effectively in an educational setting.
• Reliable and punctual with a mitment to maintaining in-person attendance.
