Job Summary:
\n The MRI Technologist operates and prepares specialized MRI equipment to perform diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures. This role requires applying technical expertise and judgment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while following established protocols and meeting patient needs.
\n
Responsibilities:
- \n
- Perform MRI imaging procedures according to department protocols. \n
- Position patients and MRI coils appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images. \n
- Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, including the process, imaging area, and necessary preparation instructions. \n
- Review patient safety screening forms before allowing patients into the MRI scan room. \n
- Ensure MRI images are properly labeled according to department standards. \n
- Evaluate image quality and ensure images are transmitted to PACS accurately and efficiently. \n
- Complete all required documentation in IDX/Radiology Information System in a timely manner. \n
- Maintain MRI room cleanliness, including equipment cleaning and removal of soiled linens before and after shifts. \n
- Scan and maintain patient-related documentation. \n
- Ensure availability of required supplies and accessories for safe patient care. \n
- Accurately document patient tracking information in IDX. \n
- Schedule imaging exams in IDX as needed. \n
- Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel. \n
- Assist physicians during procedures as required. \n
- Coordinate patient transport/call for inpatient exams when needed. \n
- Perform clerical duties when support staff is unavailable. \n
- Follow MRI safety protocols to prevent unauthorized ferromagnetic materials from entering the scan area. \n
- Follow infection control policies to ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors. \n
- Participate in required training, in-services, and professional development activities. \n
- Maintain required licenses and certifications in good standing. \n
- Perform additional duties as assigned. \n
Required Skills & Experience:\n
- \n
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, physical sciences, and MRI physics. \n
- Excellent technical skills and ability to perform MRI procedures accurately. \n
- Knowledge of MRI safety standards and imaging protocols. \n
Preferred Experience:\n
- \n
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience preferred. \n
Education Requirements:\n
Required:\n
- \n
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT/JCERT-approved Radiologic Technology program. \n
Required Certifications & Licensure:\n
- \n
- Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology (LRT). \n
- ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology. \n
- ARRT MRI Registry certification. \n
- BLS Certification required. \n
- IV Certification required. \n

- 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM \n

- Must have active NY DOH license. \n
- Must be MRI ARRT certified. \n
