Why Join Us?
At ChristianaCare, we’re committed to delivering exceptional care and building a thriving, engaged workforce that embodies our values of love and excellence. As one of the largest healthcare providers in the region, we are transforming the way we care for our communities — and our people are at the heart of this mission.
We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping workforce strategy, culture, and engagement across our health system. This is a high-impact role where you’ll partner directly with clinical and operational leaders to design and implement people strategies that drive business performance and caregiver engagement in a complex, matrixed environment.
Primary Function
The HR Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor and consultant to assigned business units, aligning people strategies with business priorities. The HRBP will advance organizational capability, foster a culture of engagement and belonging, and ensure operational excellence by delivering HR solutions that are innovative, scalable, and aligned with ChristianaCare’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to leaders, aligning workforce and people strategies with organizational goals.
Partner with leaders to drive caregiver engagement, performance, and retention through evidence-based HR solutions.
Leverage workforce analytics, caregiver survey data, and business metrics to identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend actions.
Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning & Development, Total Rewards) to deliver consistent, systemwide solutions.
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to leaders on performance management, career development, and succession planning.
Lead and support organizational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
Ensure compliance with evolving labor laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Model ChristianaCare’s values of love and excellence by fostering inclusion, collaboration, and a positive caregiver experience.
Qualifications
B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field required. Minimum of three years in a true HRBP role with demonstrated success in consulting, influencing, and driving strategic people outcomes
At least five years of progressive HR experience within a large, complex, matrixed, and decentralized organization (healthcare experience strongly preferred, but not required).
Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR) highly preferred
Strong business acumen with ability to translate organizational priorities into people strategies.
Demonstrated success influencing and building trusted partnerships with senior leaders.
Skilled in data analysis, workforce planning, and applying insights to drive outcomes.
Expertise in conflict management, organizational design, and change leadership.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident presenting to senior leadership.
Agile, solutions-oriented, and resilient with a growth mindset.
What We Offer
An opportunity to shape people strategy within a leading, mission-driven healthcare system.
A culture that prioritizes caregiver well-being, belonging, and professional growth.
Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
A collaborative, values-driven work environment where your voice matters.
