American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Labor & Delivery Perinatal Float Pool position requiring 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience and an active CA RN license.

- Perinatal Float Pool role requiring cross-training and rotation among Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and LDRP units \n
- 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) \n
- Must be available for one additional overtime shift per 2 weeks (7 shifts total) based on unit needs \n
- No blocked or self-scheduling; manager provides a minimum of 2 weeks' notice for schedule changes \n
- May float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals based on census and unit requirements \n
- Epic charting experience preferred \n

- Active CA RN license required \n
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; Advanced NRP is a hard requirement \n
- AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate and BSN certifications preferred \n
- 2 years of combined Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience required \n
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required \n
- At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years \n
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will be screened \n
- Must pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts) \n
- 2 professional references required, including at least one supervisor/manager reference from the relevant unit within the past year \n
- Full 7-year work history with any gaps explained \n

- Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, high-risk antepartum and postpartum care, newborn care, and assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries \n
- Care for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, HELLP syndrome, and multiple gestation \n
- Perform fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and administration of medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives \n
- Teaching hospital environment \n
- No RTO permitted during the first 3 weeks of the assignment \n
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate \n
- Previous UCSD employees must have prior approval before starting the assignment \n
- Must be gone at least 1 year before returning as a traveler if previously employed at the facility \n
