About the Role:
The Radiology Tech/CT Tech plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by providing high-quality imaging services that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position involves operating advanced imaging equipment, including CT scanners, to capture detailed images of the body's internal structures. The primary end result of this role is to ensure accurate and timely imaging that supports physicians in making informed medical decisions. Additionally, the Radiology Tech/CT Tech is responsible for maintaining patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall patient care experience and the effectiveness of medical interventions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography.
- State licensure as required by local regulations.
- Federal background check required. No felonies or current probation. IRS collections and delinquent student loans will disqualify candidates.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) from the ARRT.
- Experience in a clinical setting performing CT scans.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans and other radiological procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain and operate imaging equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly and safely.
- Review images for quality and accuracy, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure proper interpretation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
