Position Title: Technical Sales Engineer – Transformers
Department: Sales & Account Management
Location: Houston, TX
Reports To: Sales Manager (SLT)
Job Summary:
The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for promoting and selling transformers to a wide range of clients, including industrial, commercial, and utility customers. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and sales acumen to effectively understand customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and close sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and a proven track record in sales.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets.
- Prepare sales quotations and cost calculations working with the related departments from ELTAS
- Review tender documents to understand project requirements and scope.
- Prepare comprehensive tender documentation in alignment with company standards.
- Actively follow up on tenders to ensure timely submission and effective communication with company departments
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to customers.
- Acting as the main technical point of contact during the proposal phase, including any required presentations or discussions with potential clients.
- Liaising with the engineering or product development teams to ensure the accuracy of technical information.
2. Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers on transformer specifications, applications, and solutions.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure product offerings meet customer requirements.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key customers.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure timely and efficient after-sales support.
4. Sales Administration:
- Prepare and manage sales contracts, quotations, and orders.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM system.
- Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
Qualifications:
· Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
· Experience:
- Minimum of 4-5 years in sales engineering, preferably in the transformer industry.
· Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of transformers and related electrical equipment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications and requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Oracle NetSuite, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events.
· Other Requirements:
- Must have a valid work permit to work in the US.
