The ideal candidate will be able to operate radiologic equipment to perform X-rays, while also assisting with obtaining patient vital signs and medical histories, supporting healthcare providers in a primary and urgent care setting.
Responsibilities
- Set up equipment for testing, adjust immobilization devices, move equipment, and adjust exposure to get the proper results
- Perform X-ray imaging procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and quality
- Thoroughly document all patient services within a patients chart
- Maintain all equipment, troubleshoot problems as needed, and call in for repairs when necessary
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of lead shielding and radiation safety guidelines.
- Greet and prepare patients for their appointments, gathering accurate medical histories and vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight).
- Assist healthcare providers with exams, procedures, and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and manage patient specimens for lab work.
- Administer injections and other procedures, as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with medical charting desired
- Strong attention to detail
