Job Description
The pay range for this position ranges from $27.30/hr - $28.35/hr
This is a mid-level experience position to work in the Shipfitting Trade. Applicants will be assigned any Shipfitter trade function with limited assistance from a more experienced Shipfitter, including (but not limited to):
• Fabrication of items made from sheet metal, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum such as hull outfit foundations, tanks, small assemblies, and bulkhead assemblies using sketches and drawings.
• Installing items on units or on ships including (but not limited to): set up of mock stations, layout and installation of shell/deck stringers, layout and installation of back-up structure, layout and install hull outfit foundations using assembly sketches and blue prints.
• Fabricating and installing major equipment foundations using fabrication sketches and drawings.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
Preferred - High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred - Minimum 1 year Technical or Vocational training in steel fabrication or carpentry trade.
Required/Preferred Experience
Required - Minimum 1 year experience in metals fabrication or installation.
Required - Must be able to read blueprints in detail.
Required - Must have experience working with metal, hand tools, and power tools.
Required - Must meet the requirements of the Shipfitter physical task analysis.
