Housing and Pay: Free housing, utilities all paid for by CCO and paid meals on shift, plus hourly wage for 50 hours week
Pay- Effective 6/1/22
($20/HR + $30/OT - $23.33 average hourly rate)
Base Annual Salary: $115,000 per couple or $57,500 each
Job Description:
All CCO programming is designed to support adults with developmental disabilities in leading safe, successful, enriching lives in their local communities and in their own homes. As a Family Teaching Couple with CCO, you will play an integral part in providing a family unit while introducing new experiences and learning opportunities to the individuals we serve. We strive to provide the adults of CCO with a purposeful and meaningful life.
Responsibilities:
• Live on-site next door to individuals in a CCO duplex and provide direct care for 3 adults with disabilities while creating a safe and enriching family-style living environment
• Provide high-quality care and teaching in the home, day program, and community
• Plan, participate and provide family and community opportunities for individuals to engage in their community or home for both educational and personal interest
• Increase independence and daily living skills, social engagement, and meaningful community involvement
• Maintain CCO’s Ten Quality of Life Outcomes for all individuals in all aspects of their lives
• Collaborate with CCO’s interdisciplinary and clinical team
• Report quarterly progress using CCO’s online case management system
• Manage four staff members, providing training and oversight of care standards, handling personnel issues, and giving constructive feedback
• Daily/weekly/monthly data tracking on all health and care items, behavior, teaching/participation plans, property and home systems
• Use problem-solving approaches to help support and teach individuals skills while assisting with behavioral support and provide crisis intervention when necessary
• Manage home and individual purchases, financial records and household budgeting
• Maintain contact and communication with legal guardians, regional center and CCO administration to support medical and behavioral strategies and progress
• Assist with daily transportation needs and overall household upkeep
• Remain on-call at all times for the home, in case of emergencies
• Comply with state, federal, and agency regulations

• Understanding of individual rights concerning privacy, and the ability to balance individual rights with staff need to know.
Minimum requirements:
• Be at least 21 years of age or older
• 6 months of experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid CA driver’s license
• Ability to pass an extensive criminal record and background clearance
• Must pass a drug test and physical
• Be in a committed relationship with a partner for longer than 1 year
• Flexibility and willingness to work a wide array of hours, which includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to attend a two-week paid training in San Jose, California
