Nurse Practitioner (Urology)

As an integral part of our urology team, the NP will serve as an advanced practice provider under the supervision of a Board-certified urologist. Using independent clinical judgment within the NP scope of practice, you will evaluate and manage patients with a wide variety of urologic conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

• • Conduct comprehensive and follow-up history and physical exams for urinary tract illnesses such as UTIs, BPH, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and urologic cancers.
  • Order and interpret labs and imaging; initiate appropriate diagnostics and treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and non–pharmacological therapies within VA and state NP practice guidelines.
  • Perform or assist in urologic procedures (e.g., catheter insertion, bladder instillation, stent exchanges), pending credentialing
  • Assist with inpatient rounds and surgical follow-up; write discharge orders/progress notes in the EMR
  • Provide patient and family education on condition management, post-operative care, and lifestyle changes.
  • Participate in quality assurance/improvement initiatives, disaster response planning, and staff orientation.
