About the Role:
The Member Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring that our members receive exceptional service and support. This position is responsible for addressing member inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information about our services and programs. The representative will act as the first point of contact for members, fostering positive relationships and enhancing member satisfaction. This role is vital in maintaining a high level of member engagement and loyalty.
Choose your own shifts working 5 to 40-hour hours a week. Shifts are available Saturday 6:45 AM to 5:00 PM, Sunday 9:45 AM-5:00 PM, and Monday – Friday 4:15 AM – 9:15 PM, with the greatest need between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
Cross-Training Opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is open to cross-training in other departments, including Lifeguarding and Childcare. Employees who become cross-trained will be eligible for additional compensation and will gain valuable experience across multiple areas of our organization. Candidate must meet the minimum qualifications for work in each area to be eligible for cross training.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including typing and navigating software and web-based applications.
- Ability to count money and make change.
- Commitment to the YMCA’s mission in values.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service or member services role.
- Effective communication and people skills
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
Responsibilities:
- Greet members and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
- Respond to member inquiries via phone and in person in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist members with account-related questions, including billing, services, and program information.
- Document member interactions and maintain accurate records in the computer system.
- Give tours and pitch the benefits of YMCA membership.
- Direct complex issues to the proper department head.
- Wash and fold towels and ensure cleaning supplies are well stocked.
- Provide feedback to management on member trends and areas for improvement in service delivery.
- Serve as a fill-in when departments are short-staffed (additional compensation is available for cross-trained individuals).

Additional Requirements:
- Applicant must obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire (training provided at YMCA cost).
Flexible shifts are available Saturday 6:45 AM to 5:00 PM, Sunday 9:45 AM-5:00 PM, and Monday – Friday 4:15 AM – 9:15 PM, with the greatest need between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Max of 40 hours per week.
