Substance Abuse Specialist

A community-based outpatient mental health program is seeking a Substance Abuse Specialist to join its Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services (PROS) team. This is a clinical role providing recovery-focused, harm-reduction services to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 35 hours/week
• Program / Team: Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services (PROS)

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling with a focus on substance use recovery and harm reduction
• Complete all assigned community-based visits within a 7-hour workday
• Transport clients when necessary (e.g., hospital discharges)
• Facilitate group sessions aligned with each client's treatment plan
• Complete initial assessments, treatment plans, and all required documentation within established timeframes
• Submit progress notes on the day of service and sign within 48 hours
• Complete discharge documentation and 30, 60, and 90-day follow-ups
• Coordinate with medical staff to obtain hospital discharge paperwork and update client files
• Report significant events and incidents per policy

REQUIRED Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Rehabilitation Counseling, or another related field.
• CASAC/CASAC-T active license.
