What You Will Do \n

\nThis is an amazing opportunity as a Bench Mechanic on 2nd shift . Monday -Thursday , 3:30pm-1:30am\n
\n
\nTraining takes place on a Dayshift for External Candidates.\n
\n
\nUnder the direction of supervision or working leader you will work from verbal, written or computer-generated instructions to perform pre-coating operations. Operations include surface preparation and masking duties. Perform post coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures, removing masking, troubleshooting, and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment. You will perform minor repairs on coating equipment where applicable. These repairs include but are not limited to the following:\n
\n
\nPerform deburring, blending, polishing countersinking, grinding, drilling or grit blast operations using a variety of hand and power tools and equipment on surfaces and details of aerospace engine components.\n
\n
\nPerform Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines/equipment as required.\n
\n
\nCheck parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using various measuring equipment/tools including micrometers, verniers, height gages and other fixed gages. Assure completed parts meet quality requirements.\n
\n
\nWork from oral and written instructions to remove burrs, nicks, and scratches on parts.\n
\n
\nAssisting engineers and others in developing new or changed operations.\n
\n
\nMaking recommendations for changing and improving operating parameters and processes.\n
\n
\nReferring any difficulties to leader or supervisor.\n
\n
\nYou are required to be flexible around shifts, including overtime, for training and to maintain workflow. We look for responsibility to handle multiple significant priorities at a time. You may be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.\n

Qualifications You Must Have\n
\n
\n0-1 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience.\n
\n
\nHigh School or GED\n
\n
Qualifications We Prefer\n
\n
\nExperience with metal finishing methods, spray coating/paint application, machining, grinding, and/or welding.\n
\n
\nExperience with computerized machine operation.\n
\n
\nExperience with precision measuring instruments such as feeler gauges, verniers, calipers and micrometers.\n
\n
\nKnowledge of arithmetic involving decimals and fractions\n
\n
\nUnderstand and follow oral and written instructions concerning work methods and procedures.\n
\n
\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written\n
\n
\nBasic computer skills\n
\n
\nFlexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime.\n
\n
\nAbility to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.\n
