Imaging Services Student Tech

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring an Imaging Services Student Tech to join our Radiology Team!

This role offers flexible hours designed to work around your school and clinical schedule with every-other-weekend shifts.

The Imaging Services Student Tech performs imaging-related tasks at a technical level under the direct supervision of a registered technologist, integrating hands-on learning with clinical education! A great way to kick-start your imaging career! 

• Perform imaging procedures according to established protocols under the supervision of a Radiologist or Registered Technologist, depending on modality.

• Utilize imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data under supervision.

• Complete daily equipment inspections, warm-up procedures, and quality control activities under the guidance of a Technologist.

• Assist Radiologists and Technologists with contrast setup; will not load or prime injectors.

• Obtain quality images while adhering to radiation safety standards and departmental protocols.

• Assist with patient positioning and exam performance; will not hold detectors or patients during radiation procedures.

• Arrive patients, track exams, scan orders, and schedule exams using Radiology Information Systems.

• Support Radiologists and Technologists during modality-specific procedures.

• Maintain clinical proficiency for all completed competencies and equipment skills.

• Must be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, or NMCTB approved school.
  
  Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
   
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
