Job Description
Summary: Our company designs and builds test PCB’s and hardware for the electronic semiconductor industry. As a Junior Logistic Specialist, you will be trained in all aspects of the Logistics Department. These aspects will include purchasing, quoting, receiving, shipping, delivery, inventory control, and light equipment maintenance. Your goal will be to increase profitability and customer satisfaction by conducting your day-to-day activities in a professional and cost-effective manner. We are looking for a responsible, organized, detail-oriented, hard-working individual that can manage their time and workload, both independently and as part of the team.
Responsibilities:
Purchasing functions:
- Select the most suitable vendors in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Preparing and processing purchase orders.
- Document all relevant information into the company’s ERP software system and other appropriate programs.
- Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services.
- Provide in-depth and accurate product information as needed.
- Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations.
Quoting functions:
- Generate accurate estimates and quotes at a level that keeps our products competitive and maximize profit.
- Work with Logistics internal and external customers as needed to ensure accurate quotes and lead times.
- Follow up on vendor quotations and modify internal quotes as necessary.
- Document all relevant information into our ERP software system.
- Provide in-depth and accurate product information as needed.
Receiving functions:
- Help unload boxes and packages from delivery trucks.
- Unpack boxes and examine goods for damage and discrepancies in paperwork.
- Sign for receipt of goods.
- Receive and document all relevant information into our ERP software system and other appropriate programs.
- Scan incoming documents.
- Physically move received goods to designated locations.
- Recycle packaging materials.
Shipping functions:
- Compare identifying information such as count, weight, and/or measures of goods for accuracy against documentation and ERP system information.
- Review ERP deviations and customer requirements; and act or provide accordingly.
- Report and help resolve discrepancies; before shipping of goods.
- Pack and seal outgoing goods, per requirements, to avoid damage throughout transportation.
- Process shipment through 3rd party logistics website: FedEx, DHL, and UPS.
Delivery Driver functions:
- Pick up and deliver goods.
- Follow routes and time schedules.
- Maintain, load, unload, inspect, and operate delivery vehicle.
- Provide feedback on provided services to supervisor.
- Report and help resolve clients’ complaints.
- Complete logs and reports.
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, professional look as per requirements.
Inventory control functions:
- Organize and maintain inventory for efficient material storage and handling.
- Issues supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Maintains Excel spreadsheets and ERP system records.
- Report and help resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Monitoring inventory levels, determining inventor needs, and restock as needed.
- Recycle packaging materials.
Light equipment maintenance functions:
- Visually inspect equipment for defects or damage.
- Clean equipment and equipment area as needed.
- Document and report equipment defects or damage.
- Document and Schedule equipment preventative maintenances.
- Add fluids to tooling as needed between preventative maintenances.
- Change light bulbs inside of building as needed.
Other Requirements:
- Suggest improvements and shortcomings to your supervisor for responsible function or company services.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, free from obvious safety hazards and organized in such a way to maximize productivity.
- Dispose of trash, resulting from incoming shipments, from around the facility.
- Miscellaneous task as needed.
Qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent. (Required)
- Valid Class C driver’s license.
- Clean driving record.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Able to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to read and visually identify small serial numbers, part numbers, and other product identifiers is required.
- Previous experience in purchasing, quoting, receiving, shipper, delivery, and inventory fields are desired.
- Able to lift and move approximately 50+ pounds is required.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Have a high degree of responsibility and conscientiousness when it comes to your work commitments.
Experience:
- Previous experience in purchasing, quoting, receiving, shipper, delivery, and inventory fields are desired.
- Experience with freight carrier shipment services, inventory control, ERP software systems, and light mechanical maintenance is preferred.
