We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced full time Associate Litigation Attorney to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging and diverse legal cases in a supportive and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent clients in court proceedings, presenting evidence and arguments as necessary.
2. Conduct legal research to develop case strategies and anticipate legal issues.
3. Draft various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and other legal correspondence.
4. Conduct and manage discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
5. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to resolve disputes favorably.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of laws, court decisions, and legal trends that may impact our clients.
7. Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management.
8. Provide legal advice to clients, explaining legal rights, obligations, and potential outcomes.
9. Participate in firm marketing and client development activities.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing with the IL state Bar.
3. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation attorney, with a proven track record of success in trials.
4. Exceptional legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively represent clients and interact with opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal judgments.
7. Proficiency in using legal research databases and other legal software.
8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
9. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
10. Experience in insurance coverage would be a plus.
