Associate Chief of Emergency and Trauma Services opening in NY Home base in Cooperstown, NY Coverage includes Little Falls and Cobleskill, NY Full-Time, PermanentBassett Healthcare Network is seeking an Associate Chief of Emergency and Trauma Services to provide clinical and administrative leadership across Little Falls Hospital and Cobleskill Regional Hospital. This leadership role offers strong compensation, protected administrative time, sign-on bonus, academic affiliation, and the opportunity to help shape emergency medicine operations across a large rural health network.

  • Home base at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown
  • Leadership coverage includes Little Falls Hospital and Cobleskill Regional Hospital
  • Little Falls ED volume: approximately 18,000 visits annually
  • Cobleskill ED volume: approximately 11,500 visits annually
  • Bassett ED volume: approximately 82,500 visits annually across six sites
  • Emergency Medicine department includes 46 employed physicians and 42 APCs across six emergency departments
  • Combined ED bed capacity of 70 system-wide
  • Bassett Medical Center is a STEMI Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Integrated health system serving an eight-county region across 5,600 square miles
  • Major teaching affiliate of Columbia University and affiliate of the University of Rochester Medical Center
  • Position split: 0.73 FTE clinical / 0.27 FTE administrative
  • Approximately 8 clinical shifts and 3 administrative shifts per month
  • Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Department Chief
  • Manage Little Falls and Cobleskill department budgets and financial resources with operational leaders
  • Provide leadership focused on clinical care, education, and research
  • Oversee staffing, workflows, and clinical activity to support safe and timely patient care
  • Lead interdisciplinary collaboration with nursing, care coordination, critical care, hospital medicine, trauma, stroke, and other stakeholders
  • Support recruitment and retention across six emergency departments
  • Provide support for the APC Fellowship program
  • Assist with quality, patient experience, and patient grievance initiatives
  • Compensation & Recruitment Package:
  • Salary range: $425,000 - $475,000
  • Sign-on bonus: $100,000
  • Supportive transition bonus: $10,000
  • Job Qualifications:
  • MD, DO or equivalent
  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
  • New York State medical license or eligibility
