Perm Medical Director – Maternal Fetal Medicine | Grand Rapids, MI
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan (serving West Michigan & the Lakeshore)
Schedule: Full-Time | Shared call (primarily phone-based)
Setting: Regional leadership across hospital and outpatient sites
A leading healthcare system in West Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician to serve as Medical Director of its growing Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) program. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced clinician to provide regional leadership, deliver high-risk OB care, and shape the future of perinatal services within a mission-driven organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical leadership and oversight for the MFM service line across West Michigan
Deliver consultative and diagnostic care for high-risk pregnancies
Collaborate closely in a dyad leadership model with the Clinical & Administrative Directors of Women's & Children's Services
Serve as a key partner to OB/GYN Medical Directors across Grand Rapids and the Lakeshore
Guide program development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives
Participate in mentorship, education, and engagement with students and residents
Ensure performance against benchmarks in quality, access, patient experience, and financial stewardship
Board Certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine
Minimum 5 years of MFM practice experience (post-fellowship)
Active Michigan license or willingness to obtain
DEA registration, BLS, and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Clean malpractice record – preferred
2+ years of leadership experience or formal leadership training – highly preferred
Visa: H1B sponsorship available (J1 not supported)
Call: Shared with current MFM Medical Director
Primarily phone-based with hospital visits as needed
Weekend coverage included in rotation
Salary: Competitive and based on experience (discussed at interview)
