BBB’s mission is to bring businesses and consumers together in a trustworthy marketplace and we achieve this by sharing information on the businesses in our database, to consumers, so they can make wise purchasing decisions.nbsp;/ppWhat does our impressive database look like?/ppBBB has material collected on the 175,000+ businesses in our service area of MN and ND, which is reflected on their BBB Business Profiles in our database. These profiles give consumers the background they need in a company to help determine if the business is trustworthy. The information or data we collect also helps to determine a BBB business rating, from A+ to F which is based on 14 different factors./ppbr//ppThe strongData Quality/strong role will work to help the BBB keep the information we are reporting on updated from a variety of sources.nbsp;/ppuResponsibilities include:/u/pulliData gathering, aggregating, and updating records – ul liUpdating business addresses, phone numbers, and contact personnel in the BBB database./li liFinding business information regarding the Secretary of State (“SOS”) registration, Department of Labor amp; Industry (“DLI”) and other government agency information and business start dates to record on BBB Business Profiles./li liResearching business contact and website information online and updating BBB’s database./li liContacts/calls businesses in Minnesota amp; North Dakota for updated information./li /ul/liliWorking on informational reports to make sure BBB has updated and accurate data to report to consumers./liliLearning Operations portions of the Better Business Bureau-complaint handling process and customer reviews./li/ulpbr//ppRequirements/ppnbsp;strongWhat we’re looking for in our Work Study Student:/strong/pulliPursuing a degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Business or related field./liliExceptional customer service, interpersonal, organizational, business communication and time management skills./liliDemonstrated ability to effectively interact and collaborate with a wide range of individuals./liliDemonstrated problem solving and judgment capabilities./liliWillingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities./liliEffective planning, organizational and detail-orientated skills – ability to prioritize multiple projects and adjust workload accordingly./liliMust take initiative, be self-motivated and an independent, accountable, dependable performer./liliExperience with Microsoft Office, with demonstrated capability in Word, Excel and Outlook./liliBi-lingual skills will receive priority consideration./li/ulpstrongBenefits of Learning at BBB/strong/pulliLearn from and gain experience working with business professionals who touch hundreds of businesses and profiles daily and make an impact in the marketplace./liliLearn new systems and databases./liliCreate relationships and connections with the BBB team members. strongConsideration for Internships and any FT future job opportunities./strong/liliGain experience with BBB – strongthe largest business association in the upper Midwest./strong/li/ulpstrongSchedule/Work Location / Pay nbsp;nbsp;/strongWe’re looking for a student to work approximately 10 hours per week. The schedule for this Work Study role will be discussed and agreed upon mutually. BBB’s flexibility will work to match your school schedule needs! The pay for this Work Study position is $12.50/ hour.
