This role upholds high standards of hygiene and safety, contributing to the comfort and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to infection control and regulatory protocols.nbsp;br/br/strongEssential Functions/strong/p ul liCleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other workspaces, ensuring adherence to infection control standards./li liSweeps, mops, vacuums, and dusts floors, furniture, and equipment, utilizing appropriate cleaning tools and techniques./li liPerforms maintenance of hard and carpeted surfaces, including stripping, refinishing, and treating floors and upholstery as per department procedures./li liWashes walls, ceilings, windows, woodwork, door panels, and other surfaces to maintain cleanliness and hygiene./li liRestocks supplies in designated areas, monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages to ensure continuous availability./li liHandles trash and biohazardous materials safely, including collection, transportation, and disposal in compliance with safety and HIPAA protocols./li liOperates and maintains cleaning equipment effectively, ensuring proper functionality and reporting any malfunctions or repair needs./li liAssists with minor repairs or maintenance tasks and promptly reports larger facility issues to the appropriate personnel./li liPerforms other duties as assigned./li liComplies with all policies and standards./li /ul pstrongQualifications/strong/p ul li1-2 years of cleaning or environmental service experience preferred/li /ul pstrongKnowledge, Skills and Abilities/strong/p ul liKnowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products./li liUnderstanding of infection control and safety standards./li liAbility to operate cleaning equipment effectively and safely./li liStrong attention to detail and time management skills./li liExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients, and visitors./li liPhysical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift or move objects as needed./li /ul pstrongState Specific Requirements/strong/p ul liIndiana: IN Lutheran Hospital requires successful completion of assigned SAMA course within 30 days of hire./li liMississippi: Successful completion of assigned SAMA course within 30 days of hire required./li liNorth Carolina: Successful completion of assigned SAMA course within 30 days of hire required./li /ul
