h2About the Department/h2pdiv style="text-align: left"Performs skilled maintenance work in the preventative maintenance, alteration, repair and cleaning of buildings, grounds and equipment./div/ph2Position Duties/h2pdiv style="text-align: left"div style="text-align: left"divPerforms skilled maintenance work in one or more trades./divdiv /divdivPerforms carpentry and minor masonry work, including building forms, pouring, and finishing concrete flat work./divdiv /divdivPerforms minor AC electrical and plumbing repairs./divdiv /divdivMaintains and performs both minor and major repairs on small engines./divdiv /divdivOperates and maintains industrial ground equipment (i.e. large snowplows, snow blowers, lawnmowers, power broom, front loader and heavy trucks)/divdiv /divdivEmpties and transports garbage to designated areas; unloads freight./divdiv /divdivOperates firefighting equipment as needed./divdiv /divdivReads and interprets blueprints, drawings and other technical specifications, as well as schematics for hydraulic repairs./divdiv /divdivPaints or assists in painting of airfield (i.e. runways, taxiways, etc.) in accordance to Federal Aviation Regulations./divdiv /divdivPrepares and maintains required reports and forms./divdiv /divdivCreates and assists in budget preparation for maintenance operation as well as creates specification sheets for new acquisitions./divdiv /divdivPerforms pavement repair and maintenance using multiple products./divdiv /divdivParticipates in snow removal operations as directed, responding on a twenty-four hour basis to the needs of the airport./divdiv /divdivPerforms skilled maintenance work in one or more trades./divdiv /divdivDiagnoses and repairs automotive DC circuits, repairs and installs mobile radio systems./divdiv /divdivPerforms diagnostics, repairs and maintains automated building systems, including geothermal systems./divdiv /divdivPerforms duties associated with the requirements pertaining to regulated trash, in accordance with U S Customs and Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS)./divdiv /divdivPerforms complete paint and body repairs on vehicles and large equipment with modern paint systems./divdiv /divdiv style="text-align: justify"Performs related functions as assigned./div/div/div/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pdiv style="text-align: left"div style="text-align: left"div style="text-align: justify"strong          /strongdiv style="text-align: justify"strongstronguEducation and Experience/u/strong:/strong/divdiv style="text-align: justify"strongHigh School Diploma, plus three years of maintenance experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities./strong/divdiv style="text-align: justify"strong /strong/divdiv style="text-align: justify"strongstrong          uLicenses and Certifications/u/strong:/strong/divdiv style="text-align: justify"strongValid Wisconsin Driver's License/strong/divdiv style="text-align: justify"strongValid Class B Commercial Driver's License strongly preferred/strong/div/divdiv style="text-align: left"strong /strong/div/divdiv style="text-align: left"div style="text-align: left"strong /strong/div/divdiv style="text-align: left"div style="text-align: left"strong /strong/div/div/div/ph2Other Qualifications/h2pdiv style="text-align: left" div style="text-align: left" Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used for the preventative maintenance, alteration, repair, and cleaning of buildings and facilities./divdiv style="text-align: left" /divdiv style="text-align: left"  Knowledge of standard practices in one or more trades./divdiv style="text-align: left" /divdiv style="text-align: left"  Ability to use and care for all tools and equipment related to the job./divdiv style="text-align: left" /divdiv style="text-align: left"  Ability to read, interpret and utilize blueprints and other technical specifications./divdiv style="text-align: left" /divdiv style="text-align: left"  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administration, staff, tenants and the public./divdiv style="text-align: left" /divdiv style="text-align: left"  Ability to follow written and oral instructions.br /divdiv style="text-align: left" Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing./divdiv style="text-align: left" /divdiv style="text-align: left"Ability to operate heavy equipment (i.e. front loader, heavy snow plows)./divdiv style="text-align: left" /divdiv style="text-align: left"Ability to work the required hours of the position.br /divdivAbility to successfully complete an FBI background check/security threat analysis and maintain unescorted access to the SIDA./div/divdiv style="text-align: left"        /div/p
