justify;"Operates tractors and trucks with special attached equipment such as power loaders, backhoes, winches, snow plows, and other attachments used for varied maintenance purposes.li style="text-align: justify;"Operates special equipment used in pavement markings.li style="text-align: justify;"Directs and participates in the operation of a hot asphalt plant.li style="text-align: justify;"Operates equipment in performing street or airport maintenance work, such as rollers, oil distributors, loaders, pavement breakers, and screed machine.li style="text-align: justify;"Operates a truck and leads a maintenance crew in maintaining, repairing and cleaning streets and airport surfaces.li style="text-align: justify;"Performs mechanical maintenance and service work on equipment operationli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to lead the work of a small number of helpersli style="text-align: justify;"Knowledge of methods used in making concrete, asphalt and brick repairs, or knowledge of paints, thinners and related suppliesli style="text-align: justify;"Working knowledge of work zone traffic controlli style="text-align: justify;"Knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in construction and maintenance activitiesli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to maneuver into riding machines with two-foot steep first step, and onto frame or fender as required to perform fluid/filter check daily and other maintenance as needed on vehicular equipmentli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to lift and carry up to 90 pounds, or up to 275 pounds with the assistance of another personli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to sense approaching trafficli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to use a jackhammer and a chainsaw safely and effectivelyli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to maintain balance and tolerate riding heavy equipment over rough terrain for long periods of timeli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to work outdoors when inclement weather conditions existli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to tolerate exposure to airborne environmental nuisances associated with traffic and machine exhaust, open grounds, and constructionli style="text-align: justify;"Ability to tolerate equipment and machinery noise Ability to continuously perform tasks that require one to push, pull, climb (ladders and vehicular equipment), bend, twist, reach, stand, and walk up to half a mile at a time for most of an eight-hour shift.li style="text-align: justify;"Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally
