Recovers quickly from setbacks./lilistrongResults Oriented:span /span/strongDrives towards achievement of challenging goals, through a disciplined approach to work, using risk analysis, aligning strategy and mission, and regularly reviewing key measures of results./li/ulp style="margin: 0px;"Essential Duties of the Teacher/pulliCollaborates with General Education Special Education teachers, Related Service providers, Instructional Assistants, school administrative teams, district personnel and other relevant staff to support delivery of instructional services and supports for students with disabilities./liliDevelops, reviews, revises and implements Individual Education Programs (IEPs)./liliPrepares and delivers specially designed instruction, aligned to grade-level standards, including differentiated curriculum and teaching methods to address learning styles, social, emotional, and behavioral needs./liliEngages in frequent data collection to monitor student progress toward IEP goals./liliImplements (and may serve as facilitator for) IDEA-required processes (e.g., IEP, Evaluation, Manifestation Determination)./liliSupports teachers and staff on the implementation of IEPs at the school level./liliSets expectations for the Instructional Assistants’ role while working with students. Meets regularly with Instructional Assistants to provide feedback and support, and follow up on expectations./liliPossesses understanding of Federal and state laws, and implements board policies and District procedures related to students with disabilities./liliEnsures instructional quality and compliance with Federal State laws and District policies and procedures./liliCollaborates with District and school staff related to state and local assessments (AzMERIT, Interims, Alternate Assessment), assisting in data analysis to improve student achievement./liliWorks with school teams to coordinate and/or participate in school and department projects and committees./li/ulp style="margin: 0px;"Teaching roles are available in these special education settings:/pullistrongCross-Categorical Behavior/strongspan /spanis a specialized assignment that instructs students who have a wide range of significant social, emotional, and behavioral disabilities. The Cross-Categorical Behavior Teacher plans for and teaches all academic core subjects as well as social-emotional learning skills to address the stated needs in students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP). The Cross-Categorical Behavior Teacher supports with case management for students with significant social, emotional, and behavioral disabilities. The teacher collaborates with general education teachers, instructional assistants, related service providers, and other relevant staff to ensure that students with disabilities receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment./lilistrongCross-Categorical Developmental/strongspan /spanis a specialized assignment that instructs students who have a wide range of cognitive, developmental, communication, social, emotional, and physical disabilities. The Cross-Categorical Developmental Teacher plans for and teaches reading, writing, math, speaking, listening, and adaptive and social-emotional skills to address the stated needs in students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP). The Cross-Categorical Developmental Teacher supports with case management for students with cognitive and/or developmental delays. The teacher collaborates with general education teachers, instructional assistants, related service providers, and other relevant staff to ensure that students with disabilities receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment./lilistrongResource/strongspan /spanis a specialized assignment that instructs students who have a wide range of learning, developmental, emotional, and physical disabilities. The Resource Teacher plans for and teaches reading, writing, math, speaking, listening, and social-emotional skills to address the stated needs in students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP).
