Work involves a variety of the following duties:/ppReplacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, and toilets; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, installing door locks, performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery and other duties as assigned. Depending on the site/location, Facility Technician may have multiple levels or classifications to help differentiate seniority amongst associates within the Facility Management Department./pp#xa0;/ppRESPONSIBILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE/ppSpecific responsibilities and knowledge may include, but not limited to:/pp• Maintain and repair machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings/pp• Fix or replace faulty electrical switches, outlets, and circuit breakers (as allowable per local and state requirements)/pp• Inspect and diagnose problems and figure out the best way to correct them/pp• Perform routine preventive maintenance#xa0;/pp• Plan repair work using blueprints or diagrams/pp• Upkeep of buildings and properties/pp• Order supplies from catalogs and storerooms/pp• Keep detailed records of their work/pp• Other duties as assigned/ppA Maintenance Technician is hired for maintenance and repair tasks that are not complex enough to need the specialized training of a licensed tradesperson./ppMaintenance Technicians may fix windows, doors, floors, woodwork, walls, and other parts of buildings. These workers are also responsible for recognizing when a job is above their skill level and requires the expertise of others./ppMaintenance Technicians will get supplies and parts from distributors or storerooms to fix problems./ppMust have the ability to use hand and power tools to ensure safe operation and proper operation during the performance of daily assignments./pp#xa0;/pstrongQualifications:/strongpThis position is required to maintain the following competencies during employment:/pp• At a minimum, applicant must be able to obtain#xa0;OSHA 10 (General Industry) safety certification within the first six (6) months of employment (this training will be provided)/pp• No certifications/licenses are required/pp• Five (5) years of maintenance experience desired, but not required/pp• At a minimum, high school diploma and/or equivalent/pp#xa0;/pstrongAdditional Information:/strongpAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines./ppstrongPay Rate:/strong#xa0;$17.00/hr/pp#xa0;/pp#xa0;/p
