Youth Sideline Cheer Instructor

h2About the Department/h2pPosition is responsible for leading sideline cheerleading practices and teaching volunteers and participants the necessary techniques to prepare participants for youth football game performances.brstrongSchedule will be Thursdays from 5:30pm - 8:30pm August 21 - October 16, and 3 hours each Saturday morning from Sept 6 - October 18 for youth football game dates at which the cheer program will perform. /strong/ph2Position Duties/h2pul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"liWorks with cheerleaders volunteer coaches during practices and events./liliDevelops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide appropriate team development./liliWorks with the program supervisor in scheduling facilities for practices./liliCoaches and instructs cheerleaders, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport./liliFollows state, regional, and City of East Grand Rapids regulations. /liliModels good sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards cheerleaders, staff, parents, and spectators./liliAttends all scheduled practices and games at which the cheerleading program is participating. /liliFollows established procedures in the event of an injury./li/ul/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"liSome experience as a sideline or competitive cheerleader coach preferred. /liliPast experience as a sideline cheerleader preferred. /liliKnowledge of sideline cheers to be used for instructional purposes. /liliMust possess effective coaching techniques and skills. /liliMust possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department staff, volunteers, parents, and students./liliMust complete/meet all requirements of the employee hiring process. /li/ul/ph2Other Qualifications/h2pemThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
