Assembler III - Full-time

pUnder minimal supervision, the Assembler III performs optical and mechanical assembly of high complexity requiring fitting, alignment and adjustment of components, units and assemblies to very close tolerances.nbsp;/p pstronguPrimary Duties amp; Responsibilities/u/strong/p ul liClean and assemble various optical parts, mechanical subassemblies and large assemblies of high complexity./li liRequires the use of hand tools to perform a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies./li liDetermines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing, and fitting on assembly units./li liSolders onto various parts as required by assembly instructions./li liPrimes and bonds optical surfaces to other optical or mechanical components./li liReads detailed, complex blueprints, assembly sketches and procedures with very little supervision./li liFits or adjusts parts or assemblies within established guidelines./li liInspects and test finished items or assemblies./li /ul pstronguEducation amp; Experience/u/strong/p ul liHigh School Diploma or (GED)/li li4 years of experience in similar assembly operation. High level of manual dexterity, Knowledge of an ability to use a wide variety of hand tools and knowledge of soldering. nbsp;/li liSoldering certification is required/li liBasic computer navigation skills are required/li liExperience with optical handling, inspection and gluing are highly desired/li /ul pnbsp;/p pstronguSkills/u/strong/p ul liMathematical Skills ul liAbility to calculate figures and perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions./li /ul/li liLanguage Skills ul liAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints./li /ul/li liReasoning Ability ul liAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. nbsp;/li liAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations./li /ul/li /ul pstronguWorking Conditions/u/strong/p ul liJob operates in production environment on 1st shift, Mon-Fri.nbsp;/li liTypically works in a lab environment with some time in an office near the work areas. Some work requires the use of hazardous chemicals./li liNoise level – Usually moderate/li /ul pstronguPhysical Requirements/u/strong/p ul liStanding. Particularly for sustained periods of time./li liWorking with Hand / Fingers. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling./li liLifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
