Adheres to the National School Breakfast, Lunch, Snack and Supper program guidelines and requirements in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations. Provides excellent customer service to all stakeholders. May be required to leave the main work site on occasion for meetings amp; training. Maintain confidentiality within the school, district and community.br nbsp;br strongJob Duties / Responsibilities/strong ulliMaintains a clean, sanitary, and organized workspace at all times./li liResponsible for the proper handling of all food and supplies./li liMaintains a required system of accountability./li liPerforms and documents temperature and sanitation checks as required by law./li liPrepares weekly projections to order food and supplies for menus./li liUtilizes correct measuring and serving utensils to ensure accurate meal portioning as specified by district policy./li liEnsures dishwashing is ongoing and completed to meet district sanitation expectations at all times./li liAbility to operate a cash register, make change accurately, balance and close in a timely matter (when assigned)./li liAbility to work independently all positions as assigned./li liExemplify leadership attitude ensuring that all meals are served in a timely manner./li liOther duties as assigned./li /ul nbsp;br strongEducation/strong ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required./li liMust possess a valid Certified Professional Food Manager Certification, previously known as sanitation certificate. Certificate shall be obtained by the start of the second school term of employment./li liBilingual-Spanish/English (written amp; verbal) preferred./li /ul nbsp;br strongExperience / Knowledge/strong ulliHold a State of Illinois Food Handler card and demonstrate specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job which includes. If Certification is not current, must be able to obtain within 30 days of employment/li liMinimum of one (1) years’ experience cashiering, customer service, cafeteria line server or related field, preferred./li liAbility to successfully complete required written documentation./li liAbility to verbally communicate./li liResponsible for checking and responding to work related emails in a timely manner./li /ul nbsp;br bPhysical Demandsnbsp;/b ulliAbility to work in a very fast paced and stressful environment./li liAbility to stand for long periods/li liAbility to assist in lifting 50 pounds./li liAbility to withstand daily demands of lifting, bending and pushing heavy carts./li liAbility to withstand going in and out of freezers, refrigerators and storage areas./li liWears appropriate uniform and shoes as required./li /ul nbsp;br strongTerms of Employment/strong ulliThis is a ten (10) month position.
