STORE/NIGHT LEAD CLERK - Part-time

Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.nbsp; Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.nbsp;/p pnbsp;/ph3Responsibilities/h3divul liPromote trust and respect among associates./li liCommunicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.nbsp;/li liCollaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals./li liEstablish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets./li liDevelop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.nbsp;/li liTrain and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process./li liAdhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines./li liGain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products./li liOffer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.nbsp;/li liInform customers of grocery specials./li liDevelop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results./li liCreate and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management./li liPrepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor./li liImplement the period promotional plan for the department./li liStay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads./li liMonitor and control expenses for the department./li liAssist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports./li liMaintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory./li liSchedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs..nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;/li liPlan, organize and supervise the inventory process./li liTrain department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.nbsp;/li liAdhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines./li liEnsure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained./li liReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management./li liPractice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.nbsp;/li liNotify management of customer or employee accidents./li liReport all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud./li liMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.nbsp;/li /ul/divh3Qualifications/h3divpMinimumnbsp;/p ul liEffective communication skills/li liKnowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)/li liAbility to handle stressful situations/li /ul pnbsp;/p pDesired/p ul liHigh school education or equivalent preferred/li liManagement experience preferred/li liGrocery experience/li liRetail experience/li /ul/divh2Company/h2divdiv Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Smith’s Food and Drug merged with The Kroger Company in 1998.
