Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

A respected long-term care facility in the Albany region is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support clinical leadership and help ensure the highest standards of resident care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in overall clinical and administrative management

• Conduct regular wound and skin care rounds

• Promote compliance with nursing standards and ensure effective communication across the nursing team

• Assist in planning, staffing, and coordinating nursing services

• Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new nursing staff

• Maintain infection control protocols and oversee daily staffing operations

• Respond to urgent clinical needs with a flexible and responsive approach (including on-call availability)

• Ensure timely and accurate documentation in resident medical records

• Help maintain staff education and professional development initiatives

• Remain current in nursing practices and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility

• 2 years of nursing management experience preferred

• Experience in staff education is a plus

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

• Flexible schedule, including availability for on-call responsibilities
