Duration: School Year (July – June)
Salary Range: $30.00 – $31.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM; hours may vary during summer and intersession based on program needs. Occasional weekend availability is required.

The Legacy Sports Manager for Intramural Programs is responsible for leading and managing the design, coordination, and delivery of high-quality intramural sports programs across multiple school sites within SUSD. This position oversees the Legacy Sports team, including a Program Specialist, Site Coordinators, Coaches, and Referees, to ensure organized, safe, and engaging sports programming. The Manager is responsible for program planning, administrative compliance, staff supervision, and collaboration with schools and community partners to promote student development through team sports. This role requires a strong ability to manage program logistics and administrative systems to ensure accuracy, accountability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Program Oversight & Development

  • Design seasonal intramural sports schedules aligned with district calendars and student needs.
  • Establish and distribute game rules, site schedules, and program goals; coordinate logistics across all participating sites.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track participation, outcomes, and performance indicators.

Administrative Oversight & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including attendance, incident reports, schedules, and referee logs.
  • Ensure all documentation and reporting is submitted on time for internal teams and district partners.
  • Support procurement processes for equipment and uniforms by submitting supply requests, purchase logs, and inventory lists.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, invoice submission, and tracking for hourly staff in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Payroll Department.
  • Oversee staff compliance with all required certifications and trainings (e.g., CPR, Mandated Reporter, Workplace Violence Training).

Staff Supervision & Team Leadership

  • Supervise the daily responsibilities and professional growth of the Legacy Sports team.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, team meetings, and performance reviews to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Coordinate scheduling, assignments, and site coverage, ensuring adequate supervision and game coverage at each location.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to all team members in alignment with organizational expectations.

Site Management & Quality Control

  • Conduct site visits to monitor programming, provide real-time feedback, and ensure high standards of safety, engagement, and sportsmanship.
  • Review and respond to incident reports, equipment needs, and attendance logs.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are organized and maintained across all program sites.

Partnerships & Communication

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for school site leaders, athletics liaisons, and community partners.
  • Communicate proactively with schools and internal departments regarding program schedules, changes, incidents, and needs.
  • Represent the Legacy Sports program at meetings, school functions, or community events as needed.

Program Evaluation & Reporting

  • Collect and analyze participation data, feedback, and staff reports to assess program effectiveness.
  • Compile and submit weekly and monthly reports on staffing, attendance, incidents, and site conditions.
  • Identify areas for growth and propose adjustments or improvements to enhance program outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support evolving organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • 48 college semester units or passing score on the Paraeducator exam
  • Valid TB clearance
  • DOJ/FBI background clearance
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Experience working with youth and basic knowledge of elementary subjects
  • Strong classroom and behavior management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Effective, professional communication with staff, students, families, and partners

Education & Experience

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in youth development, education, and nonprofit administration or program management preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative planning, systems design, and strategic operations.
  • Supervisory or coaching experience in multi-site program settings preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Clear and professional communication (written, verbal, and digital)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to problem-solve
  • Strong understanding of expanded learning environments and best practices

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass Live Scan background check and TB clearance
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred

Certifications & Clearances

  • Required: Sexual Harassment Prevention Training and Mandated Reporter Training
  • Preferred: First Aid and CPR Certification

Physical Demands

  • Must have the strength, agility, and mobility to actively perform job duties and support event setup as needed
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and other physical movement required
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs and support event setup as needed

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Hybrid role with in-office responsibilities and regular site visits
  • Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between multiple sites daily
  • Occasional evenings and weekends for events, site support, or emergencies
  • Must follow all current CDC and local health guidelines for a safe work environment

Technology & Tools (Preferred)

  • EZReports, Procare, or similar systems (as required by district)
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Forms, Outlook)
  • Workforce platforms such as ADP and Deputy
