Mechanical Drafter

In this role, you will work as a member of the engineering team making modifications to existing designs, designing simple mechanical systems, and supporting engineers by preparing detail drawings for individual parts and full machines. You will work closely with sales to prepare sales layout drawings, and with the manufacturing department to ensure that designs are manufacturable and well-documented.

General Responsibilities:

Assist engineers in generating CAD documentation for a variety of parts and projects including drive systems, hydraulic systems, structural assemblies, and much more.

Design simple mechanical components used in systems to move, lift, flip, roll, turn, and store a wide variety of materials.

Work closely with the production department to design for manufacturability.

Process orders and prepare drawings for production.

Structure bills of materials and work orders to optimize flow of product through the shop.

Participate in and support continuous process improvements.

Other duties may be assigned by COO and or Lead Engineer.

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree or technical training relating to mechanical drafting.

2-5 years of mechanical drafting/design experience.

Proficiency in both AutoCAD and Solidworks.

Strong Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Detail oriented and organized.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using an ERP system (Infor Visual preferred).

Experience converting legacy 2D drawings to 3D models.

Working Environment:

Works in office environment and at a desk

Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly via person or phone.

Sits in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
