American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications, with hands-on L&D experience and the ability to care for a diverse maternal-newborn patient population including Level 2A Nursery patients.

- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 8 beds \n
- Patient population includes L&D, postpartum, antepartum, newborns, and infants under 28 days old \n
- Level 2A Nursery care required, including care for sick babies \n
- Gyn-surgical and mastectomy post-op patients are part of the caseload; experience preferred but not strictly required \n
- Laboring patient ratio: 1:2; couplet ratio: 1:3-4 \n
- Centralized fetal monitoring in use \n
- Charting via Epic \n
- 12-hour night shifts \n
- Contract is for 36 or 48 hours per week \n
- Floating may be required to med/surg in a support or CNA-level capacity, within scope of practice \n
- Every other weekend rotation required \n
- Low census (LOC) call is expected per census on a rotation schedule \n
- Holiday coverage required: 3 holidays scheduled and 1 on-call, on a rotating schedule \n

- Active SD RN license or Compact RN license (currently in hand) valid for South Dakota \n
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required \n
- Completion of a board-approved nursing education program required \n
- EFM interpretation and intervention skills required \n
- Adult and neonatal assessment skills required \n
- Minimum 1 year of L&D-specific experience required \n
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility \n
- Two professional references dated within the past year required \n
- DOB and SSN required for consideration \n

- First-time travelers with L&D-specific experience are welcome to apply \n
- Former permanent staff must wait a full year before returning as a traveler \n
- Orientation is approximately 1 week, adjusted based on traveler experience \n
- Unit support includes a charge nurse covering all units, 24/7 lab/phlebotomy services, on-call respiratory therapy, in-house hospitalist (Med/Surg), and a nursery located directly behind the nurses' station \n
- No IV/VAT team on-site; no CNA dedicated to L&D (CNA available on-call facility-wide) \n
