Summary Of Responsibilities
The CT/X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including computed tomography (CT) scans and general radiography (X-rays), to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role involves operating advanced imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality images, prioritizing patient safety, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays and CT scans in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
2) Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
3) Prepare and position patients for procedures; explain the process and answer any patient questions.
4) Operate and maintain imaging equipment with attention to image quality and radiation safety.
5) Verify patient identity and review clinical information for accuracy.
6) Utilize PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) to store and retrieve images.
7) Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast agents and respond appropriately in emergencies.
8) Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
9) Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.
10) Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
Requirements
Education
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licenses/Certificates
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R) certification required and ARRT(CT) certification preferred but not required.
- Licensed by the Texas Medical Board, MRT registration.
- CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
Experience
- Experience a plus, basic knowledge of all radiologic equipment. Must be proficient in all X-ray studies.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in X-ray and CT required for full time positions and willing to cross-train all PRN positions into CT.
- No on-call requirements for full-time or PRN positions.
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.
