Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dedicated OB/GYN team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in all stages of life, including pregnancy, postpartum, and general gynecologic care. This role involves supporting physicians during exams, procedures, and patient education, with a strong emphasis on women’s health and patient comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist OB/GYN physicians with exams, procedures, and minor surgeries

• Obtain and record patient vital signs, health history, and chief complaints

• Prepare patients for gynecological and prenatal examinations

• Administer prescribed medications and injections

• Collect and label specimens (e.g., Pap smears, cultures, blood draws) for lab testing

• Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal care, birth control, and postpartum recovery

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in the EMR system

• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to RN or physician

• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and properly prepared for each patient

• Adhere to infection control and safety procedures

• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients

Qualifications:

• Current LPN license in [state]

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program

• Previous experience in OB/GYN or women’s health setting preferred

• CPR/BLS certification required

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods

• Ability to lift and move equipment and patients as needed
