Responsibilities:- Assist students in the development of knowledge, concepts, generalizations, principles, appreciation, and attitudes that promote their growth.
- Provide an educational program within the classroom and assist in other school programs as required by district policy.
- Demonstrate effective planning and preparation for instruction through knowledge of therapy areas and communication development.
- Establish learning targets, goals, objectives, and program goals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of regulations and resources.
- Plan and evaluate the therapy program, including assessments for learning.
- Create an environment conducive to learning by fostering respect and rapport.
- Organize time effectively and manage clear procedures.
- Establish standards of conduct and organize physical space.
- Respond to referrals and develop/implement treatment plans.
- Communicate with families and collect information/writing detailed reports.
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in service delivery.
- Reflect on practice and collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and guardians.
- Maintain an effective data system and participate in professional learning communities.
- Grow and develop professionally while showing professionalism.
- Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Audiology.
- Current physical certification indicating capability of performing job responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Possess English language skills for effective communication.
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of professional responsibilities.
- Appropriate Illinois State Board of Education Certification (PEL) with SLPN Endorsement; Pre-K through Age 22.
