Job Description
The Manufacturing Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the flow and kitting of materials within a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory management to support production and aftermarket schedules. This role involves supervising a team, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The supervisor plays a critical role in optimizing material handling processes to minimize costs and maximize productivity.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. An associates degree with significant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree.
3-5 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as Bill of Materials (BOM) and drawings required.
Proficiency in supply chain management software, inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, MRP), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, RIE) required.
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to optimize processes and troubleshoot issues.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs., stand for prolonged periods, and operate material handling equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
Familiarity with OSHA guidelines, safety best practices, and industry-specific regulations.
