Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Diesel Mechanic for a company based in Largo, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow in the field of diesel mechanics with a reputable company.

Pay Rate
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Must be flexible.

Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, fuel systems, and other mechanical and electrical systems in trucks, buses, and other diesel-powered vehicles.

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements.

• Conduct inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues to determine necessary repairs.

• Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.

• Communicate with Shop Manager and support team to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.

• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.

• Determine parts required for each job and interact with the Shop Parts Department to obtain.
• Follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components.

• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a timely and effective manner.

• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
