Job Title: Tax Attorney - State and Local Tax (SALT)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Tax Attorney with a strong background in State and Local Tax (SALT) to join our growing legal and tax advisory team. This role involves providing sophisticated legal analysis, strategy, and support on a wide range of SALT matters including income, franchise, sales/use, property, and other indirect taxes. You'll play a critical role in advising clients and stakeholders on multistate tax issues, compliance, controversy, and planning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on state and local tax matters.

• Analyze tax laws and regulations across multiple U.S. jurisdictions.

• Support clients or internal stakeholders with audits, appeals, litigation, and voluntary disclosures.

• Draft legal memoranda, tax opinions, and client correspondence.

• Monitor legislative developments and regulatory changes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and compliance.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as a tax attorney with a focus on SALT.

• Experience with multistate tax compliance, planning, and controversy work.
