Overview:
Ridgewood Senior Living is seeking an experienced and passionate Dining Director to lead and manage our dining and kitchen operations. This position ensures high-quality food service and exceptional resident experiences through hands-on leadership, efficient management, and strong interdepartmental collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily food service operations for all residents, ensuring meals are fresh, wholesome, and meet individual dietary needs and preferences.
  • Schedule, train, and supervise kitchen and dining room staff to ensure consistent and efficient service.
  • Participate in food preparation and service as needed, including working on the line or in the dining room.
  • Plan and develop menus in consultation with the Executive Director and Registered Dietician as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations related to sanitation and food safety.
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory of food and kitchen supplies within budget constraints.
  • Maintain accurate records, including monthly inventory, spending analysis, and meal tracking reports.
  • Support and execute hiring, orientation, training, performance management, and termination of Food and Beverage staff.
  • Track resident meal attendance and communicate concerns to the nursing team for daily safety checks.
  • Foster effective communication within the Food Service department and across all community departments.
  • Lead the planning and execution of community events, ensuring high-quality food and presentation.
  • Facilitate corrective actions and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or as necessary for efficient operations.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in food service management, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs, and menu planning for diverse populations.
  • Ability to manage inventory and operate within a set budget.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in food service.
  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
