Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant - Boston, MA (Onsite)

Our client, a mission-driven organization in the arts and culture space, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their accounting team on a temporary basis, with the potential to convert to a permanent role. This position will play a key part in financial operations and reporting during a period of transition. The role involves full-cycle accounting responsibilities and mentorship of junior staff, with a focus on the general ledger, audit support, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including cash, AR, prepaid, fixed assets, and accruals
• Support external audit by providing schedules and documentation
• Assist with tax-related filings and special reporting needs
• Monitor and improve internal accounting processes and procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• ERP system experience required (Workday highly preferred)
