Atrium Health is seeking talented Academic OB/GYN Hospitalists within our nationally renowned academic medical center. Our faculty team currently consists of 4 academic hospitalists and 6 academic generalists who work together to provide coverage of OB and GYN patients alongside resident physicians.
Academic OB/GYN Hospitalist (Multiple Positions Available)
We are actively recruiting 3 additional Academic OB/GYN Hospitalists with the goal of having double attending in-house coverage (Hospitalist + Generalist vs Hospitalist + Hospitalist).
Key Responsibilities:
- Inpatient Obstetrics: Supervise residents and medical students in care of patients on Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and OB Triage units
- Approximately 3,500 deliveries annually including low- and high-risk patient populations
- Antepartum patients managed by Maternal Fetal Medicine faculty
- Inpatient Gynecology (nights/weekends): Supervise residents in care of patients on inpatient gynecology service, inpatient/ED consults, and urgent/emergent gynecologic surgeries with Generalist home call backup as needed
- Seven 24-hour shifts per month

- 25 OB/GYN residents (6 per year, now approved for 7 per year starting with current
Intern class)
- Primary regional referral center
- Level 3 NICU support
Training and/or Experience Required
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification/eligibility in OB/GYN
- Current or recent academic experience strongly preferred
