ASL Interpreter | Yukon, Oklahoma

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support K-12 students in an educational setting located in Yukon, OK. This contract position spans the full school year, providing essential munication services that enable deaf and hard-of-hearing students to access the curriculum effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate munication between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL).
• Interpret educational materials and classroom discussions in real time.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance classroom engagement for students requiring sign language services.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Attend relevant meetings, trainings, and IEP sessions as necessary.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficient in American Sign Language with strong interpreting skills in educational environments.
• Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a school or similar setting.
• Ability to maintain concentration and accuracy over extended periods.
• Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
• Understanding of educational terminology and classroom procedures.
