The HPLC Junior Analyst is responsible for conducting routine and non-routine analyses of pharmaceutical samples using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) in compliance with regulatory standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of pharmaceutical raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using HPLC.
  • Prepare and validate HPLC analytical methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HPLC equipment.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and adhere to company and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, cGMP).
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of laboratory activities and test results.
  • Support stability studies and method development/validation processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance and R&D, to meet project timelines.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: Entry-level position; prior experience or internships involving HPLC is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques and equipment, especially HPLC.
  • Basic understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., ICH guidelines, USP, EP).

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail with excellent documentation practices.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Familiarity with software used in chromatographic data analysis (e.g., Empower, ChemStation).

Work Environment

  • Laboratory-based role with exposure to chemicals and analytical instruments.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work based on project needs.
