Schools - Sign Language Interpreter

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Minimum EIPA score of 4.0
• Experience interpreting for elementary grade levels, particularly with 2nd grade students
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
• Commitment to promoting accessibility and inclusion in the classroom

Location: Fremont, CA

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for a 2nd grade student, facilitating access to the curriculum
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure effective communication and support for the student
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities
• Prepare for and adapt to the varying needs of the student and classroom environment
• Maintain documentation of services provided and any pertinent communication with educational staff
