The Software Engineer Intern will primarily support the development of end-to-end (E2E) test coverage for our custom web-based software applications using Playwright. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in quality assurance, test automation, and the software development lifecycle. While the primary focus is on writing Playwright test scripts, the intern may occasionally assist with general coding or software tasks based on team needs.

This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to write clear and maintainable test cases, and good collaboration skills.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Write and maintain automated end-to-end (E2E) test scripts using Playwright for web applications.
  • Review and understand feature specifications and translate them into comprehensive test cases.
  • Execute tests, document results, and work with developers to validate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Contribute to our broader QA automation strategy to improve test coverage and reliability.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining testing infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure test coverage aligns with core product requirements.
  • Occasionally support other software development tasks or bug fixes as needed.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) as a team member.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks: Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, etc.
  • Experience or coursework in JavaScript/TypeScript preferred.
  • Some experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM) is a plus.
  • Microsoft certifications a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • 1+ years of C#, Java, and/or Angular experience
  • SQL experience, including data modeling and query writing, preferred but not required
  • Experience with a component-based, object-oriented, multi-tiered architecture.

  • Ability to write logical, clean, and reproducible test cases.
  • Fast learner with the ability to adapt to new tools and processes.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, Agile team environment.
