Job Description
Summary:
The IMS Specialist provides support to AbiMar and the IMS process to ensure the effective operation and compliance of all systems (SQF, KOSHER, RSPO, HALAL, No GMO, ISO14001 and others) across the organization. The role includes managing customer complaints and requirements, overseeing documents and records control, and evaluating IMS performance for CAPEX, OPEX, and New Product Development projects. The IMS specialist will conduct internal and external audits and inspections, drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and lead special projects aimed at improving quality and compliance standards. This individual will work cross-functionally to ensure the organization maintains the highest quality standards, supports continuous improvement, and meets regulatory and customer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer/Clients/Regulatory Complaints Requirements Management:
? Investigate and lead Customer/Client complaints related to product quality and compliance and communicate effectively with Customer/Client
? Oversee and manage assigned state or federal regulatory permits.
? Completion of customer requests for food safety regulatory compliance, technical data requests, bid submissions, etc. on documents and/or using online portals to complete information request
Documents and Records Control:
? Manage the creation, revision, approval and proper disposal of quality documentation and records in accordance with IMS standards.
? Ensure that information related to management systems (internal, suppliers, clients, or other stakeholders) is updated and easily accessible
IMS Evaluation for CAPEX, OPEX, and New Product Development:
? Lead the evaluation of the impact of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), Operational Expenditure (OPEX), and new product development projects on IMS requirements.
Audits & Inspections:
? Support internal and external audits to assess compliance with IMS standards (SQF, KOSHER, HALAL, No GMO, RSPO, ISO14001, SMETA and others).
? Support with external audit bodies and manage any audit findings or corrective actions.
? Conduct regular inspections to ensure product quality and process adherence to company policies.
Reporting & Documentation:
? Prepare and present regular reports on quality assurance activities, audits, complaints, CAPA, and IMS performance.
Requirements:Experience
? Bachelor's degree preferred and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.
? 1-3 years experience in roles related to completion of technical information requests and audit preparation.
? Food science experience is a plus but not required
