Sign Language Interpreter in Hampstead, NC

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity exists for skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support students in a dynamic K-12 educational environment. This role is essential in facilitating munication and ensuring that deaf or hard-of-hearing students have access to the curriculum alongside their peers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for students in classroom settings.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to assess student needs and customize interpretation services.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and student progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as required.
• Assignments will be tailored based on individual experience and skill levels.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter, with a preference for a minimum 3.5 EIPA score.
• Previous experience interpreting in K-12 settings is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and munication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
