Job Description
Aero Performance/Aircraft Spruce, the US largest distributor of general aviation parts/supplies, is seeking a talented warehouse manager to support our growing operations at our Harrisburg facility. Our 50,000 square foot facility has 35 material handlers - small but mighty!!
The ideal candidate brings 5 years warehouse leadership with a proven track record motivating team by implementing strategies to increase productivity while meeting business objectives. Good English/Spanish written and verbal skills required.

Job Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains an efficient and motivated work force by conducting interviews, orientation, training (new hire, forklift, safety, ongoing), and coaching, of employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures. Works closely with Branch Manager or Human Resources Manager on Human Resource issues.
- On daily basis, organize workload across Receiving/Returns/Stowing/Quality Control/Fulfillment/Shipping to maximize efficiency and meet departmental goals.
- Monitor individual and team productivity; Drive continuous productivity improvement through process enhancements and on-on-one coaching. Spot checks individual and team production at least once per day to ensure proper process is followed.
- Research and resolve errors; Initiate efforts to prevent reoccurrence by addressing the root cause.
- Monitor’s staff attendance and break schedules; Work with Branch Manager to address attendance opportunities.
- Provide departmental productivity and efficiency reporting to Branch Manager; Work closely with Branch Manager on recommendations for process improvement, staffing needs/adjustments/schedules, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized warehouse environment in accordance with department standards; Monitor and direct team to adherence to these standards.
- Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
- Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Ensures all stations and areas are stocked with needed materials before and at conclusion of shifts. Assist with ordering of materials as designated by manager.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies or delays within various sections of warehouse; Responsible to intercede as needed to prevent bottlenecks to maintain healthy supply chain.
- Utilize proprietary ERP/computer System fully in the management of internal tickets, emails, inventory management and projection. Review emails frequently to quickly identify approved and declined orders.
- Monitor and adhere to safety standards for all warehouse staff at all times including lifting and ladder usage. Take correction action immediately. Report injuries or unsafe work conditions - no matter how small - to Branch Manager. Escalate employee concerns to Branch Manager for counseling/disciplinary action. Conduct safety committee meetings.
- Assist team members with orders as needed.
- May serve as backup Branch Manager as needed.
- Open and/or close the warehouse at the beginning and end of assigned shifts, or outside normal working hours as required including Saturdays as needed.

- Associates Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5-year warehouse experience in a supervisory role. Cross Trained in all critical warehouse functions Receiving/Returns/Stowing/Pulling/Checking/Packing/Invoicing
- Business English communication skills both written and verbal; Spanish a plus!
- Good computer skills including Email, Microsoft Office, Internet, Proprietary ERP/Computer; Type 40 WPM
- Excellent organizational and planning skills; Understands how to prioritize tasks without coaching.
- Team player; Ability to ask for help when needed and offer help when needed.
- Good knowledge of basic mathematics;
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Good record keeping skills. Meets deadlines
- Understands and adheres to safety requirements in a warehouse. Stops unsafe behaviors immediately. Makes recommendations for improvement.
- Lifelong Learner; Interested in trying and learning new skills and/or techniques. Ability to share knowledge with others.
- Ability to read and comprehend a variety of labels and product detail.
Essential Functions of Position:

- Must be able to stand on feet for up to 8 hours per day for at least 2-hour increments
- Requires constant physical activity including lifting, stooping, reaching and using ladder.
- Seasonal exposure to extreme hot and cold work environment (> 40’, < 105’)
- Constant Pushing/Pulling/Lifting: up to 50#
- Ambulatory: Continuous standing/walking on variable surfaces including concrete floor. Stepping up and down ladders.
- Squatting/Stooping/Kneeling to as low as ground level to reach product on bottom shelf.
- Repetitive us of hand/grasping; light to forceful grasping of product; daily data entry using computer keyboard and display
- Good vision abilities include close vision, distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- <1 % sitting, 20% walking and 80% standing.
