We are actively seeking a medical assistant to work in our residential program. BASIC PURPOSE: To provide primary care for adolescents ranging from 12-17 who struggle with mental health issues, eating disorders and/or substance abuse. To provide ongoing support to group therapist and academic liaison during group and school time; give medications to clients and document administration of medications.
Specific Responsibilities:
• At intake, the Medical Assistant is also responsible for taking the vital signs, blood pressure, height, weight, drug screen, body check, etc.
• Additionally, candidate will document vitals daily including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
• Obtain and document client weight weekly
• Work with the Psychiatrist to ensure medications changes occur in accordance to medication management policy.
• Update and maintain medication management system logs daily as required.
• Submit detailed notes, for each client including daily fitness, food diaries, and 12 step meeting.
• Facility scheduling and coverage
• Work with management to ensure facility and employees are in adherence to all company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
- REQUIRED ability to pass a Fingerprinting Background Clearance
- At least 3 year of supervisory experience
- Proven track record of supervising and leading teams and obtaining results
- Medical Assistant Certification (Preferred)
- Experience working with adolescents age 12-17 years old
- Crisis management skills
- Knowledge of psychopathology and dual diagnosis preferred
