Job Description

As a full-time Yard Associate, you will serve as a material handler and forklift operator, responsible for building loads for deliveries while ensuring the lumber yard and warehouse remain safe, clean, and well-organized.

Responsibilities

• Build loads for delivery and unload freight, including lumber and building supplies.
• Operate forklift, ensuring proper training and certification.
• Communicate delays or discrepancies with management effectively.
• Maintain the lumber yard and warehouse in a clean and orderly manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information one-on-one.
• Must be able to periodically lift up to 80 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with general production and construction.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Work Environment

Work in an outdoor environment, experiencing direct sunlight and extremely hot conditions. The position follows a schedule of four 10-hour days, with one weekday off and weekends free. Start times are between 5 AM and 7 AM, with a 30-minute lunch break.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winter Garden, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
